Obituary

Willie Bobo, age 96, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2025, at her home in Magee, MS, with her two sons by her side. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Bradley Edwards, Lead Pastor of Christ Fellowship Church will officiate. The burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031

Mrs. Bobo was born in Magee, MS on October 31,1929, to Aaron and Zona Meadows Rankin. She graduated from Magee High School.

She married Charles Bobo in 1950 and together they had two sons, Charlie and Terry. The couple lived in Orlando, FL, until they retired.  Mrs. Bobo worked as a civil service accountant for the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy. Upon retirement, they moved to Magee, MS.

Mrs. Bobo had numerous hobbies and interests. She and her husband enjoyed square dancing in both Florida and Mississippi. They danced at the Mississippi State Fair several times. Mrs. Bobo was a member of Christ Fellowship Church and the T J Burnham Sunday School Class.  She also participated in Magee Women's Club and was a longtime "pink lady" volunteer at Magee General Hospital. She enjoyed travelling across the U.S. with her husband, especially the southwest, collecting wine and turquoise jewelry, and spending time with her family and beloved pet cats.

She preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bobo; parents, Aaron and Zona Rankin, sister, Hazel Ryan and brothers, Orville and Marlyn Rankin

Survivors include her sons, Charlie Bobo (Judy), of Cocoa, FL, Terry Bobo, Magee, MS; sister Faye Thomas, Madison, MS; sister-in-law Shirley Rankin, Raymond, MS; grandson Brody Bobo (Hawaii); granddaughter-in-love Saki Okuhara (Japan and Hawaii); and great-granddaughter Aika Okuhara (Japan and Hawaii); and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Bobo's name to Methodist Children's Home or Cheshire Abbey Rescue.
