William Earl Monk, 84 of Mendenhall, MS passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at the Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall, MS. He was born Tuesday, March 29, 1938 in Mendenhall, MS.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 03, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall.  Burial will follow in Mendenhall City Cemetery. Bro. Earl Clark will officiate. He was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Monk; parents, Edd and Janie Monk; brother, Ellis Monk; sister, Mary Francis Monk.

Survivors include his three sons, Biff  Monk  (Edie ) of Richland, MS, Loren  Monk  (Dana) of Columbia , MS and Blake Monk  of Odessa , TX;  one daughter, Brittany  Burgess  (Tom ) of Wesson , MS; eleven grandchildren, Hannah  Hawthorne (Reed), Caleb  Monk  (Paige), Landon  Monk  (Mikala ), Layton  Monk, Molly  Bennett  (Caleb), Braelyn  Monk, Cooper  Monk, Carson  Monk, Addie  Monk, Sophie  Burgess, and Ben  Burgess;  five great- grandchildren, Jenna  Monk, Bethany  Monk, Sarah  Monk, Laura  Monk and Rowan  Hawthorne brothers, Benny  Monk  (Ann) and Joe  Monk  (Kathy);  sister, Frankie  Jones; sister-in-law, Betty  Monk; and a  host of nieces and nephews.
