Thomas "Wayne" Purser

Thomas "Wayne" Purser, Sr., 91 of Pearl, Mississippi went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at home. He was born Friday, February 5, 1932 in Smith County, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 9:00am until 11:00am at Concord Baptist Church in Mount Olive, Mississippi. Services will follow at 11:00am with burial immediately after at the church cemetery. Bro. Kevin McWilliams will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5301

Wayne served in the Air Force during the Korean War from 1952-1956. After the Air Force, he went to work for South Central Bell, retiring after 38 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Lessie McWilliams Purser; wife of 22 years, Jackie Bush Purser; father, Ethel Purser; mother, Lela Amason Purser; brothers, Vernon Purser, Fred Purser and Herbert Purser; sister, Vermel Jordan.

Survivors include his son, Tommy Purser;  daughters, Pam Hassell and Libby Dugas (Al); grandchildren, Darlene Brown, Daniel Hassell, Lacy Dugas, Joshua Purser (Meg), Brittany Rester (Brian) and Zachary Purser (Rachel); eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Cody Brown, Daniel Hassell, Al Dugas, Tommy Purser, Tony McWilliams, Adam McWilliams, Zach Purser and Joshua Purser.
