Obituary

Sue White Bulger, 89, of Mize, MS, was born on January 11, 1936. Sue grew up with a love of learning that would shape her life's work. She graduated high school a year early and went on to attend the University of Southern Mississippi. At just 19 years old, she began her teaching career, sharing her gift for language and literature with countless students. She taught Junior High English until her retirement in 1995, leaving behind a legacy of encouragement and love for learning.

In 1962, Sue married A.L. Bulger. They made their home in Mize, MS, where they owned Bulger's Supermarket. Sue was a member of South Shady Grove Church of God. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her sharp mind, and her unwavering love for God and her family. Throughout her life, she always remained grateful and humble no matter what circumstances she faced.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Burial will follow in Sharon Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Magee, MS. Dr. Sherman Blackwell and Bro. Barry Warren will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031

She was preceded in death by her husband, Al Bulger; step-son, Steve Dukes; father, James A. White;  mother, Nonnie Mangum  White;  brothers, Edward  White, Wayne White and Gary  White; sister, Gertrude Lanier;  step-granddaughter, Courtney Dukes Clark;  son-in-law, Edward  Runnels.

Survivors include her daughters, Nonette Runnels, Annette Mathis  (Jimmy) and Suzette  Arender (Danny);  step-sons, Stan Bulger (Linda), Lee Dukes (April); fifteen grandchildren; twenty-three great- grandchildren;  three great- greatgrandchildren; niece, Jane Cockrell; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Brad Sullivan, Richard Cockrell, Jason Cockrell, Kyle Cockrell, Quinn Allen, Jeremy Allen, and Josh Allen.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lauren Lanier, Andy White, Joey White, Chuck White, Tom White, and David White.

A special thanks goes to the Enhabit Hospice and care workers: Jarishica Keyes, Marie Hicks, Barbara Taylor, Susie Noblin, Deonna Baldwin, and Michelle Bourliea.
