Shirley Nobles Robertson, 87 of Pearl, MS passed away Sunday, December 21, 2025 at the Brandon Nursing and Rehab in Brandon, MS.
Shirley was born November 17, 1938 in Magee General Hospital, the 4th of four daughters born to Clemmie Watts Nobles and Truman M. Nobles and lived in Taylorsville, MS for 40 years before moving to the Metro area. She owned and managed commercial rental properties in Jackson and Pearl, MS for over 40 years, which she sold in 2021 and retired at age 82.
Shirley lived her life by the Golden Rule, trying to always let others come first and helping those in need. She liked working in her yard and having pretty flowers. She won Yard of the Month several times over the years, when she lived in Taylorsville, Pearl, Brandon and Flowood.
She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, Pearl, MS, where she attended Sunday School and church until the Corona virus and felt she could not attend, but listened on the internet along with Taylorsville First Baptist Church, Taylorsville, MS, where she was a member before moving to Metro area.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025 from 12:00 pm until the service at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church Taylorsville in Welcome Street, Taylorsville, MS. She will be laid to rest in Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville, MS. Bro. Ron Harrison will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564
Shirley was predeceased by her parents; Truman and Clemmie Nobles; her step mother Lavada Stringer Nobles; her husband Jimmie Dale Robertson and 1st husband, Paul Ainsworth, father of her daughter; sisters Billie Nobles (Thomas) Gregg, Betty Nobles (Jerry) Meador, Paula Nobles (Carl) Beaugez; nieces Debbie Gregg (Don) Roberts, Judith Gregg Fields, and Eydie Nissen.
She is survived by her only daughter; Dovonia Ainsworth Richey and son in law David of Pearl, MS and an only grandson, Paul David Richey and his wife Lizzie of New Orleans, LA.; Nieces, Jennifer Gregg (Wayne) Hobbs, Susie Vanover (Bobby) Newman; several great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews, and church family.
In lieu of flowers family suggests that friends consider Fellowship Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 173, Taylorsville, MS 39168.
