Samuel Lee Shotts, 71, passed away peacefully at the Mississippi Care Center of Morton, Mississippi on May 19, 2026. He was born on August 08, 1954, in Mississippi and spent much of his life surrounded by family, friends, and the community he loved.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Funeral services will held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Burial will follow in Herrington Cemetery in Mendenhall. Sam was a devoted family man, loyal friend and hardworking provider who touched many lives thought his years. He graduated from Simpson Academy in 1973 and continued his education at Copiah-Lincoln Community College.

Sam dedicated nearly 40 years of service to Siemens before retiring, a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment. Outside of work, he was known for his love of cooking and was especially admired as a master on the grill, always bringing people together with good food and fellowship.

He also enjoyed watching football and spending time with those he loved most. Samuel will be remembered for his kindness, dedication and the joy he brought to family and friends through the simple things he loved most.

He is survived by his son, Christopher Lee Shotts (Pamela), granddaughter, Cadence LeeAnn Shotts; nephews, Wesley Alan Shotts (Anna) and Logan Franklin; along with several great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Sam is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Herrington Shotts; father, Edgar Shotts, mother, Vera Shotts; and brother Dale Alan Shotts.
