Ruby Lavinia Russum, of Braxton, Mississippi, was born on September 4, 1940, at Jackson Infirmary Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Minnie Myrtis Dutton and the stepdaughter of John Clinton Dutton.

Ruby is survived by her grandson, James Ray Russum; granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn Russum; great-grandson, Bennett Samuel Lawrence; sisters, Peggy Denson and Marie Phillips; nieces, Donieale Rosenkranz, Lee Ann Denson, Gwenda Phillips, Mary Katherine McMahon, Taylor McMahon, Mary Kay McMahon; and nephews, Glenn Russum and Arron Russum; great-niece, Makayla Nichole Denson and great-nephew, Terry (Trey) Jay Denson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Russum (Preacher); son, Rexford “Rusty” Russum; niece, Donna Phillps; nephews, Jerry Phillips, Michael Phillips, and Dale Russum.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Burial will follow in Braxton City Cemetery. Bro. Marvin Phillips will officiate.
