Obituary

Robert Larry Williams,78, of Magee, Mississippi, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Veterans Home Nursing Home in Collins. He was born on November 22, 1947.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee. The Burial will follow Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031.

Mr. Larry loved the Lord, his wife Ouida, and his country deeply. He graduated from Magee High School in 1965 and attended Colin for one semester, followed by Jones for another semester. In 1966, he joined the military and fought in the Vietnam War as part of the Brown water Sailors, serving on a patrol boat. Mr. Robert was married to his wife for 49 years and was very involved in the church, where he played the guitar and sang. He also had a passion for sports cars. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

She was preceded in death by wife, Ouida Joy Williams; parents, Robert Williams and Edna Earl Williams; brother-In-law, Davis Cook.

Survivors include son, Fred Williams, grandchild, Michael Robert Williams; sisters, Elizabeth Ann Cook, Alice Jean Holbrook (Clifton); brother, Charles David Willliams (Wanda); and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Clifton Holbrook, John Williams, Josh Yarbrough, Waylon Kennedy, Charlie Holbrook, and McKenzie Holbrook.

A special thanks goes to the wonderful staff at the VA nursing home in Collins, as well as the Heart of Hospice staff, for their kind and loving care. Additionally, a heartfelt thank you to Vicki and Charlie at the VA nursing home for their exceptional care.
