Richard Earl Shepherd, 66 of Braxton, MS passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was born Thursday, December 25, 1958 at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Burial will follow in New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Braxton, MS. Bro. Trent Grantham and Bro. Jimmy Jackson will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Shepherd and Ruth Delancy Shepherd.

Survivors include his brother, David Shepherd  (Tamra);  sister, Diana Aycox  (James); nephew, Brad Shepherd (Shelly); niece, Amy Shepherd; great-nephews, Styles Shepherd, Haygen  Shepherd and Tyne Shepherd; and a host of extended family.

Pallbearers will be Josh Mullins, AJ Mullins, Will Delancy, James Smith, Sam Smith, and Heath Albritton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Styles Shepherd, Haygen Shepherd, and Tyne Shepherd.
