Rebecca Jane Layton Womack, born October 16, 1939, Died February 3, 2022 after a long illness.

Becky as she was known, married Johnnie Womack and were married for 63 years.  Becky and Johnnie were high school sweethearts.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 05, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in 302 8th Ave SW, Magee, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 06, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, Mississippi. Burial will follow in New Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Mendenhall, Mississippi. Bro. Buddy Keyes will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031

Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Estus and Jewel Layton, Sister, Mary Maddox and Oldest son Jed.  Becky is survived by her husband Johnnie, sons, Jay and Joey.  Becky has 4 grandchildren. Tracy Barnes, Lisa Gunter, Justin and Jordan Womack.  Becky has 2 great grandchildren Judah and Asher Gunter and her niece, Tara Olmstead whom Becky considered the daughter she never had.

Becky received her Masters degree from University of Southern Ms.  Becky was a lifelong educator teaching school in Canton and Magee, MS where she retired.

Becky and Johnnie are members of First Baptist Church in Magee and attended regularly until health problems prevented it.  Most importantly, Becky loved the lord and was ready to meet Jesus at the Pearly gates.

When Becky went to be with the lord, she was in Simpson General Hospital.
