Obituary

Minnie Bell Ware Amason went to be with Jesus, Monday, July 8, 2024 at St. Dominic Hospital surrounded by her children. Minnie was born February 13, 1937 in Magee to John and Maggie Ware. Minnie grew up in Dry Creek and has often said, "those were some of the best days of my life." Some of her favorite memories were working in her families cotton field, garden, and cool nights getting into mischief with her siblings. She would often reminiscence about how they didn't have much growing up and getting an orange or an apple for Christmas was something they looked forward to each year.

Minnie married a military man and spent her early adult years traveling the country. She made friends everywhere she went, but heart was always in Dry Creek. After her husband retired from the Navy, she returned to Dry Creek in the early 80's and remained there until her passing.

Minnie was always up for a having a good time and she loved being with her sisters, children, grandchildren and tending to her roses. She was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church and was looking forward to the day where she would see Jesus face to face. She made sure all of her children knew that when she passed, she didn't want anyone to wear black. She said, "after all, this is a celebration, not a mourning".
