Mary Ruth Thompson Nichols, 77 of Magee, MS passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026 at her home. She was born December 16, 1948 in Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026 from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel of Magee. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery. Bro. Cody Bruce will officiate. Mary was a firm believer in our Lord and Savior. She was a hardworking and dedicated mother, who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was more than a mother-in-law, she was momma. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and an awesome mother to all of us. She taught his the important facts of life. She loved deeply, and we will miss her greatly. Momma, thanks for all you have done for us. Now it is time to go rest high on that mountain, till we meet again.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Earl Thompson and Ruth Laverta Thompson; brothers, Billy Earl Thompson, William Thompson, and Benny Ray Thompson; sister, Lillie Reed.

She was survived by her son, Travis Runnels (Lizabeth); daughters, Lisa Greene, Michele Morgan, Tonya Jackson, and Nicey Viator (Kevin); fifteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; special nephew, Ricky Thompson.

Pallbearers will be Drew Runnels, Kyle Runnels, Ethan McMullan, Jack McMullan, Cody Greene, and Austin Thompson.
