Mary Alice Bowen Nanney, 61, of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Memorial Health Systems in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born Saturday, January 14, 1961, in Pascagoula, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel at 302 8th Avenue SW, Magee, Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Merchant Cemetery in Raleigh, Mississippi. Bro. Billy Walker will officiate. Special music will be provided by Robert Wilson. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements (601-849-5031).

She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Johnnie Bowen; mother, Flora Eunice Bradshaw Bowen; brother, Eddie Bowen; sister, Mattie Jean Bowen Crisler.

Survivors include her one son, Michael Thornton (Carla) of Raleigh, MS; one daughter, Josette Celeste Nanney; three grandchildren, Desiney Thornton, Tyler Thornton, Allie Thornton; one great-grandchild, Kaisley Thornton; four brothers, Tim Bowen (Melinda) of Raleigh, MS, Carlie Bowen (Charlotte) of Raleigh, MS, David Bowen (Lana) of Brandon, MS, and Johnathan Bowen (Miriam) of Lena, MS; two sisters, Ruth Bowen Hayes (George) of Taylorsville, MS and Abigail Bowen Crosby (Samuel) of Hattiesburg, MS; and a host of other family members and friends.
