Linda Gail Abercrombie Sims, 66, of Taylorsville, Mississippi, passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, Mississippi. She was born Tuesday, February 15, 1955, in Taylorsville, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Taylorsville, Mississippi.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, October 17, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Union Line Cemetery in Soso, Mississippi. Brother Michael Warren will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. (601) 785-6564

Mrs. Sims was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.  She enjoyed working with her flowers, sewing and crocheting, cooking, and most of all spending time with her family.  She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, George Wallace Abercrombie and Betty Jean Jenkins Abercrombie; and one sister, Wanda Lynn Abercrombie.

Survivors include her loving husband of forty-seven years, Charles Sims of Taylorsville; four children, Melissa Graves of Taylorsville, Jason Sims and his wife, Rhonda, of Sylvarena; Alan Sims and his wife, Bobbie, of Taylorsville, and Timmy Sims of Taylorsville; seven grandchildren, Jeana Gambrell and her husband, Steven, of Hebron, Justin Graves of Gautier, Nathan Sims of Raleigh, Haylee Sims of Sylvarena, Katie Sims of Sylvarena; Mason Sims of Taylorsville, and Mady Sims of Taylorsville; one great-grandson, Tristen Gambrell of Hebron; two brothers, Terry Abercrombie and his wife, Cathy, of Taylorsville, and Glen Abercrombie and his wife, Kathy, of Taylorsville; one sister, Sandra Parker and her husband, Robert, of Taylorsville; and a host of other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mark Quinn, Nathan Sims, Mason Sims, Triston Shirley, Justin Graves, and Steven Gambrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Abercrombie and Keith Stringer.
