Obituary

Judy Gale Hammond, 69, of Magee, Mississippi, passed away unexpectedly at her home on March 17, 2026.

Judy was born on October 22, 1956, in Magee, Mississippi, to Woodrow Hall, who passed away three months before her birth, and Nena Hall Prince. Judy had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. She loved a simple life and cherished her family fiercely. Most of all, Judy loved her Savior, Jesus Christ. She often spoke of looking forward to going home and imagined the angels coming to carry her there. Today, she is home with her Heavenly Father, reunited with her Mama and Daddy.

Judy was truly one of a kind and so very special. She lived a courageous life through many hardships, and her faith remained strong through it all. While we are deeply saddened by her sudden passing, we find comfort in knowing she has seen His glory and now sits at His table of grace, free of pain, tears, and hardship.

She was preceded in death by her father, Woodrow Hall; her mother, Nena Hall Prince; her stepfather, Nathaniel Prince; her brothers, Bobby Hall and Woody Ray Hall; her sister, Mary Coward; her stepsister, Doris Martin; her stepbrother, Lavell Prince; and her true love and best friend, Anthony Bruce Parish.

She is survived by her son, Shane Hammond; her granddaughter, Cloey Hammond; her great-grandchild on the way, Baby Pierre; her sisters, Patsy McDaniel (Scott), Doris Shaw (Lou), and June Thames (Roger); her sisters-in-law, Nancy Hall and Jackie Hall; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Although we are heartbroken, we will celebrate her life and memory and rejoice in knowing she is home. Until we see you again, rest easy and save us a seat.
