John Keith Parker, 59 of Taylorsville, MS passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at his residence in Taylorsville, MS. He was born Saturday, December 21, 1963 in Laurel, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at Summerland Baptist Church, 80 SCR 28-4, Taylorsville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held that same day at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in Summerland Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Kenny Walters will officiate Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564

Keith was a 1982 graduate of Taylorsville High school, where he excelled in football, leading his team to the State Championship game. He attended Jones Junior College before joining the workforce. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a long time member of the Smith County Wagon Train Organization, where he participated yearly in the Dixie National trail ride. He was a loyal friend to many and will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Johny Ray Parker; mother, Janis Gregg Parker.

Survivors include his brother, Greg Parker (Louise) of Taylorsville, MS; sister, Laura Beth Parker Davis (Tony) of Moselle, MS; nephews, Cody Davis (Brooke), Charles Butler (Jennifer), Austin Parker and Daniel Parker; nieces, Paige Thornton (Austin) and Reese Davis.

Pallbearers will be John Robert Blakeney, Barkley Brown, Cody Davis, Jim Bob Robinson, Baker Ford, and Daniel Parker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Malcolm Parker, Wesley West, Kenneth Jernigan, Derek Hosey, Brian White, Austin Parker, Charles Butler, Bubba James, and Ben Atchley.

Special music will be performed by John Gamble.
