Obituary

In Loving Memory of Jeanette Arender Bailey Arnold

February 25, 1939 – October 6, 2026

Jeanette Arender Bailey Arnold, 87, of Raleigh, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, cherished memories, and a beautiful legacy of faith and devotion to her family.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Arnold; her son, Dewayne Bailey; her parents, Amos and Helen Smith Arender; her sisters, Maxie Arender and Gay Bolton; and her brother, A.W. Arender Jr.

She leaves behind daughters, Donnette Bailey Maner (Wayne) and Sherry Michelle Bailey; sisters, Sue Smith and Angie McKissack; brothers, Marthell Arender and Otho Arender; and nephew, Larry Logan (Cindy).

She was a proud grandmother to Corey Maner, Johnathan Wade, Dusty Bailey, Brittany Bailey Hawkins, Karli Maner Smith, and Kaci Bailey.

Her legacy continues through her precious great-grandchildren: Cruz Maner, Bailey Smith, Benji Smith, Beau Hawkins, Stella Holder, Bryce Hawkins, Bailey Kate Hawkins, Amos Smith, John Weston Knotts, Carson Wade, Wrenley Bailey, and Lottie Smith.

Jeanette’s greatest joy was her family. She loved them deeply & prayed for them faithfully. Her family will forever treasure the comfort of knowing they were covered by her constant prayers.

Jeanette also had a special love for music and dancing. In fact, something many may not have known about her was just how much she loved to dance. If she couldn’t find a dance partner, she would simply grab her broom and dance anyway! It was one of the many sweet and unforgettable things that made her so special.

Although her family will miss her presence, her singing and piano playing and most importantly the prayers she so faithfully lifted on their behalf, they can find peace in knowing she is resting in the arms of Jesus.

And while our hearts are heavy here on earth, the music is playing, the celebration has begun, and Mom is dancing in glory.

A graveside service celebrating Jeanette’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2026, at North Raleigh Cemetery.
