James Ray Wyatt, 83 of Mount Olive, MS passed away Friday, June 20, 2025 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was born Thursday, February 5, 1942 in Mount Olive, MS.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 from 10:00 am until the service at 12:00 pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee, 302 Eighth Ave SW, Magee, MS. Burial will follow in McNair Cemetery in Mt. Olive, MS. Bro. Richard Mayfield and Bro Charlie Meadows will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031

Ray was a long time owner of Ray's Discount Tire in Collins, MS for many years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon W. Wyatt; mother, Willie Nell Lankford Wyatt; brother, Henry Vernon Wyatt; brother-in-law, James Gibbons.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joann Carroll Wyatt of Mount Olive, MS;  son, James Ray "Jay" Wyatt, Jr. of Mount Olive, MS;  daughter, Vickie Kennedy (Darrell) of Holly Bluff, MS;  grandchildren, Justin Kennedy (Jessica), Jonathan Kennedy (Theresa), Jared Kennedy (Kristie), Ashleigh Wyatt and Cody Wyatt; sister, Rita Diane Gibbons; 10 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Helen Wyatt; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family.

Pallbearers will be James Ray "Jay" Wyatt Jr., Justin Kennedy, Jonathan Kennedy, Jared Kennedy, Cody Wyatt, and Kevin Wyatt.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cory Gibbons, Red Hosey, Mike Meadows, and Jeremy Cockrell.
