Heather passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a family, friends and a community who loved her deeply. A lifelong member of this community, Heather was known and loved by many. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend who gave her heart freely and lived life with a spirit that was both bold and full of love.
She found joy in the moments that mattered most: time with her boys, Chanler and Nicholas; days spent at the beach; and making memories with family and friends. Heather had a gift for caring for others, both in her personal life and in her work, where she took pride in helping people feel seen and supported. Heather had a gift for caring for others, both in her personal life and in her work, where she took pride in helping people feel seen and supported.
Heather shared deep, lifelong bonds with those closest to her. She grew up surrounded by friends who became family, and together they built a lifetime of love, laughter, and shared experiences.
She lived unapologetically, full of life, laughter, and a spirit that could not be contained. Her love for her boys was at the center of everything, and she made sure their lives were filled with memories they will carry forever. In moments that once felt chaotic or impulsive, we now see the beauty because that was her way of loving us.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Joyce Woods; paternal grandmother, Etta Mae McNay.
Survivors include her sons, Chanler Pevey and Nicholas Pevey; mother, Sharon McNay; father, Eddie McNay; stepfather, James Smith; sisters, Misty Dilmore, Christy Kelly, and Kayla McNay; and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members.
