Dwight Rodger Pardue, Sr., 73, joined his eternal home on October 26, 2022. Dwight was born in Taylorsville, MS on November 18 th , 1948, and lived in Florence, MS for 40 years. After his retirement, he moved back home to Taylorsville.
Dwight graduated from Taylorsville High School and enlisted in the US Army. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam where he earned a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. After his time in the military, he built his career at Southern Pine Electric for 38 years. He took great pride in serving Southern Pine while building lifelong friendships with members and co-workers. Those that knew Dwight knew him as loyal friend.
In his later life, his hobbies included spending time with his family, visits with his sister, Marsha, talking with friends, and enjoying the view from his back porch. He enjoyed the simple things in life and had lots of entertaining stories to tell. His greatest prized possession was his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Charlotte Pardue; his children Rodger Pardue (Beth) of Taylorsville, MS and Lindsay Baker (Scott) of Brandon, MS; his grandchildren Aubrey & Bryant Pardue and Jensen & Jewel Baker; sister, Marsha Pardue of Taylorsville; and a host of other family members and friends.
Dwight was predeceased by his father, Fillmore Pardue; mother, Mildred Pardue; brother, Phil Pardue; and sister, Carrie Magee.
A visitation will be held on Friday Oct. 28 th , 2022, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home – services to follow at Colonial Chapel and interment at Fellowship Cemetery. Brother Tommy Shields will officiate the service.
