Darlene Peets, 57 of D Lo, MS passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023 at the Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. She was born Thursday, May 19, 1966 in Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee, MS. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 08, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee, MS. A graveside service will follow at 4:00 P.M. at Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Philadelphia, MS. Bro. Timothy Carlisle and Bro. Gene Irwin will officiate. She was the truest definition of an old school, southern, God fearing lady. She enjoyed being with her family, tending to her plants and beautiful flowers, watching butterflies dance around and the humming birds drink as they passed through, sitting on her porch watching the wind blow through the trees. The things that most tend to overlook in this life are what made her the absolute happiest. Above all else, she found her pride in tending to those that she loved. Everyone that knew our precious lady understood that her love language and way of taking care of everyone was to feed you. In true southern woman fashion, she would make sure your belly was full before she began helping you with any other problem you may be facing. Rather it was a celebration in life, a loss or a "just because", she believed a good meal would help with anything life throws at you.

She also believed wholeheartedly in tough love and in her words," letting us bump our own behinds" to ensure that we had in fact learned from whatever decisions we had made along our journey. She was quick to let her thoughts and opinions be known, but also just as quick to let you know that she loved your regardless and to simply learn from it and move on. It has always been a known unspoken rule that MooMoo's door was always open to everyone regardless of their situation. If you were hungry, simply walk into the kitchen, if you needed somewhere to rest you were offered a bed, if you needed some of that tough love that only she could manage to give in her ways, walk in and sit down with her-before it was over you would end up on the porch where so many heart to hearts, heart break, laughter and good things took place, but most of all if you just needed somewhere to feel like a safe home, MooMoo's was the place to go. She would always say, "We don't have much, but we do have is here if anyone needs." and she meant every single word of it. Her passion in life was her family, both those tied by blood and those that she chose to be her family. She didn't have friends, once she loved you, you became her family. There was not a single difference in the two in our MooMoo's eyes. The compassion the hope, the encouragement and the love that she had for everyone are just a few of the wonderful things that we should all strive to have and carry within ourselves. She fought not only her illness but every obstacle in life with a strength that could only come from God. If you have never been blessed enough to have been taught anything by her, take that as your very own lesson and reminder, fight your battles with God. To honor our sweet mother, our Dad's sweet baby and so many's MooMoo, we pray that you always remember to show compassion, love to people through their hard times, feed the hungry and give the weary a place to rest but above all else, make sure that they see God through you during it all.

She was preceded in death by her son, Cole  Peets-Hoover;  parents, Windell  Dickerson and  Bobbie  Blount  Dickerson;  nephew, Ethan  Adcock;  brother-in-law, Ernest  Bryant.

Survivors include her husband, Tim Peets  of D'Lo , MS; children, Wesley  Pearson, Justin  Peets-Hoover  (Valerie ), Bradley  Peets,  JoAnna  Owens, Andrea Jones, Erica  Parker  (Anthony), Amanda  Luckey  (Chad ), Brittany McDonald  (Shannon) and Haley  Greer (Matt) Jason Wigley and Kasey Wigley;  grandchildren, Cadence  Wigley, Lee  Harvey, Pyper  Harvey, BaileeJo Harvey, Jackson  Hoover, Lillian  Parker, Hambone  Parker, MK  Hoover, Molly and Stetson  Staines, Caitlyn  Henry, Hannah, Drake, Jayden Higginbotham, Jayden Wigley, and Brookley Wigley and a host of  grandchildren, and MooMoo babies;  sisters, Wendy  Bryant and Amy  Adcock  (Joseph) and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Lee Harvey, Will Adcock, Kyle Adcock, Wesley Pearson, Jayden Wigley, and Jason Wigley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Adcock, Clint Bryant, Tanner Welch-Adcock, Stetson Staines, Anthony Parker, Devin Caves, Austin Clark, Javarious (Chocolate) Walker, Bryen Runnels, and Jerry Owens.
