Danny Sherman, 70, of Mize, Mississippi, passed away from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He was born Friday, September 29, 1950, in Smith County, Mississippi.

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, Mississippi.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 5, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Brother Stacey Pickering will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031

Mr. Danny was a member of Hebron Baptist Church of Hebron, Mississippi.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and friend.  He was an avid deer and turkey hunter.  He was just as good with his bow as with his rifle.   He enjoyed fishing, watching football, taking care of his dogs whom were like family, and most importantly, spending time with his family whom he loved and cherished dearly.  He was a 1968 graduate of Taylorsville High School.  He then attended Jones County Junior College on a football scholarship.  He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. Sherman and Marguerite Louise Craven Sherman; and one sister, Lana Harvey.

Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-three years, Janice McKissack Sherman of Mize; six children, Neil Sherman and his wife, Shannon, of Calhoun, Chera Sherman Breland and her husband, Jerry, of Hattiesburg, Deena Sherman and partner, William Monk, of Seminary, Chasity McMillan Warren, and her husband, Neal, of Mt. Olive, Sara McMillan Zacarias and her husband, Oscar, of Mt. Olive, and Kyle Sherman and partner, Michelle Melton, of Mize; thirteen grandchildren, Tony Sherman and his wife, Stormy, Timathy Sherman and his wife Holly, Zachary Blam, Tyson Sherman, Justin Breland, Jared Dan Breland, Ava Warren, Alora Warren, Ariauna Zacarias, Reyna Zacarias, Brielle Zacarias, Aubrey Sherman, and Kylen Sherman; two great-grandchildren, Emma Sherman and Cooper Sherman; one brother, Glaston "Snake" Sherman and his wife, Janie, of Sharon; two sisters, Patricia "Trish" Sherman of Texas, and Edith "Edie" Sherman Reese of Texas; and a host of other family members and friends.
