Dannie Ruth Dickerson, 87, of Magee, Mississippi, passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Monday, August 30, 2021, at Magee General Hospital in Magee, Mississippi. She was born Saturday, December 9, 1933, in Magee, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, Mississippi.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral. The burial will follow in Sharon Presbyterian Cemetery. Brother Steve Keen, Dr. Jim Taylor, Dalton Dickerson, and Don Dickerson will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031
Mrs. Dickerson was a lifelong member of Beulah Baptist Church of Magee, Mississippi. She was very active in teaching the Willing Workers and working in any areas of the church where she was needed. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She enjoyed sewing and crafts, sharing her crafts with family and friends, going to church, and most of all spending time with her family. She meant the world to her family, and will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H C Dickerson; parents, Lonnie Matthew Fortenberry and Mattie Purvis Fortenberry; four brothers, W.L. Fortenberry, Ernest H. Fortenberry, Woodrow Fortenberry, and Wade Dean Fortenberry; and two sisters, Ina Foster and Nonnie Hughes.
Survivors include three children, Debbie Mouton and her husband, Nolan, of Magee, Dave Dickerson and wife, Darlene, of Magee, and Don Wilson Dickerson and wife, Samantha, of Louisville; six grandchildren, Daniel Mouton of Magee, Mattie Mouravskiy of Magee, Callie Dickerson of Louisville, Dalton Dickerson of Louisville, Jeremy Sims and his wife, Hanna, of Taylorsville, and Rayanne Bishop and her husband, Michael, of Quitman; seven great-grandchildren, Nylah Mouton and Emery Mouton of Houston, TX, Adalina Kate Mouravskiy of New York City, NY, Harley and Nora Sims of Taylorsville, and Carolina and Christine Bishop of Quitman; and a host of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be James Ainsworth, Jeremy Sims, Jim Taylor, Mike Taylor, Buddy Barnard, and Freddie Hughes.
