Connie Leigh
White
November 18, 1958 – July 12, 2025
Connie Leigh White, 66 of Taylorsville, MS passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025 at her residence. She was born Tuesday, November 18, 1958 in Covington County, Mississippi .Connie was a Christian daughter of the King.
She graduated from Taylorsville High School in 1976 as valedictorian and then graduated
from Jones County Junior College with honors.
During and after school Connie worked as a legal secretary then later as secretary for her
husband's business.
On May 5th, 1979 Connie married Larry (Rock) White in a small ceremony in Hot Coffee,
Mississippi. When they married, Connie gained a daughter, Lori. Later, they had Jared and
Heath. Over the next 45 years, together they raised children and grandchildren. They
started and grew their own business, Westside Truck and Auto Repair, of which Connie was
vital, the backbone on which Larry and their employees depended. Their combined efforts
as a couple provided a good life for their family. To her husband, Connie was his compass,
his true north. Larry loved her blindly, good and bad, faults and all. Theirs was a deep love,
built by the highs and lows of life, a never wavering commitment to each other.
Connie was a smart and funny person. She always had a good come-back or a joke. She was
a friend to many people.
She spent the early years of her married life following her boys with their sports. Later she
was busy with Kara going to pageants and following her school activities. She even did some
substitute teaching.
She loved her church and church family. And she loved her some Brother Brian! As hear it ,
there were more than a few instances of dialogue between the two of them from pulpit to
pew!
Also, there was actually a rumored altercation where Connie may have injured Brother
Brian!!
She also loved the church that she grew up in, Calhoun Baptist Church, in Hot Coffee.
She still loved the people there and kept in touch often.
Connie loved animals, dogs and cats, and she even had two pet squirrels for a time. Her
closest companions over the years were three dogs, Peanuts, Shadow and Ripper. She loved
them and treated them like family. They brought her comfort in the hard times and joy in all
times. Connie loved projects of all kinds, particularly Science Fair Projects which she did
annually with her sons and her niece, Lauren.
She also had many other beloved nieces and nephews.
Connie will be missed, immensely. However, she knew she was going home to be with her
Lord and Savior.
