Blackwell
June 16, 1957 – December 11, 2025
Buddy Joe Blackwell, a devoted Christian, husband, stepfather, brother, uncle, and friend who loved his family and friends very much, was born in Laurel, MS, and made his home in Raleigh, MS, where he spent his life surrounded by those he cherished most. Buddy's gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and deep love for his family defined every chapter of his life.
Buddy is survived by his children, Ken (Kaytlin) Jones and Kelli (Jeremy) Hudson; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his brothers Wayne Blackwell, Reggie (Ann) Blackwell, Paul (Patrica) Blackwell and Evelyn (James) Warrington; along with a host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Earnestine Blackwell; his wife, Sherry Blackwell; his brothers, Larry (Buck) (Beverly) Blackwell and Roger Blackwell; his sisters, Linda (Johnny Wayne) Herrington, Eloise (Edward) Knight, and Janet (Duffy) Bankston; and nephews and nieces, Chaz & Lee Warrington, JR Herrington, Rachel Bankston, and Clyde and Renee Saulters.
Serving as pallbearers will be Douglas Blackwell, Douglas Knight, Butch DeWolf, Bentley DeWolf, Dusty Herrington, and Rusty Herrington. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Runnels and Bryce Lingle.
Pastor Paul Blackwell will officiate the services.
Arrangements are entrusted to Colonial Chapel in Magee, MS. Visitation will be held from 5–8 p.m. on Saturday the 13th and from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. on Sunday the 14th, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Buddy will be laid to rest at Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville, MS.
Buddy Joe Blackwell's legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His family takes comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his loved ones and resting in the peace of God's eternal care
