Brian Eugene West, 54 of Taylorsville, MS passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024 at his residence in Taylorsville, MS. He was born Tuesday, August 4, 1970 in Laurel, MS.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 11:00am until 3:00pm at First Baptist Church, Welcome Street, Taylorsville, Mississippi. Funeral services will begin at 3:00pm at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Dr. Frankie Clark will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564
Brian was a graduate of Taylorsville High school, class of 1989. He spent many years working as a heavy equipment operator. Brian was a 3rd degree Master Mason. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Taylorsville. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Davis; father, Albert Eugene West, Jr.; mother, Elizabeth Joyce Blakeney Prine; step-father, Willis Ray Prine; grandfathers, Gail Blakeney and Albert Eugene West, Sr.; grandmothers, Louise Keene Blakeney and Mary Clark West; father-in-law, Donald Ray Sherman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Rhonda Michelle Sherman West of Taylorsville, MS; son, Dustin Gene West; brother, Wesley Young West; sister, Gayla Beth Blakeney Gunnell (Cooper); step-mother, Judy West; step-brother, Tim Prine; step-sisters, Marie Prine Mullen, Sherry Prine Gerald and Melissa West Clark; mother-in-law, Linda Norris Sherman; brother-in-law, Kevin Brian Sherman (Lisa) and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Young West, Kevin Brian Sherman, Warren Hough, Wade Yeager, John Robert Blakeney, and Jason Blakeney.
Honorary pallbearers will be The Fellowship Sunday School Class, Larry Blakeney, Blake Blakeney and Harry Blakeney.
Special music will be performed by Mary Barron Jordan and Mary Lou Robertson.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Taylorsville and Shriners Children's Shreveport.
