Obituary

Bonnie Fay Ivy, 88 of Raleigh, MS entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, at the Magee General Hospital in Magee, Mississippi. She was born Thursday, November 12, 1936 in Frogtown, Scott County, Mississippi.

Bonnie had a gift for teaching as she worked in the Smith County School System for 39 years as a teacher assistant. She greeted students each morning selling pencils and other supplies. She earned the title of "The Pencil Lady". She touched so many young lives and made so many memories. Even today, if you mention her name to one of her former students they will say "she was my favorite teacher."

If there was one piece of wisdom that she would share with you, it would be "Eat your desert first!"

While she was a resident at Mississippi Care Center of Raleigh, Bonnie had the honor of being voted Homecoming Queen and riding in the Raleigh Homecoming Parade. She will be deeply missed and forever known as our homecoming queen.
